Otto Gross : 1877-1920

Accueil - Home

His relations with S.Freud and CG.Jung were in fact tragic. Freud admired Gross's work enough to be jealous of it. By 1909, Freud had decided that these ideas were dangerous to psychoanalysis.
The arrest of Otto Gross caused a considerable uproar-partly because he was arrested in Berlin on his father's orders.
Otto was confined to a sanatorium as if suffering from what was regarded as early dementia. He died in february 1920 in Berlin, with him died a rich promise for psychoanalysis.
